SUMMARY

Provides for the planning and oversight of multiple level Supply Logistics projects. Designs and reconfigures supply storage systems to meet the needs of the customer; provides assessment of project scope, status reporting, resource assessments, develops and maintains project schedules.  Performs cart builds within the Materials Management Inventory System (MMIS).

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Identifies opportunities for improving storage and delivery of supplies and equipment.

Coordinates supply logistics implementation projects, redesigns projects, and completes logistics assessments.

Defines the scope of the project in collaboration with management.

Develops estimates of time, labor, material, and cost requirements.

Obtains approvals for and orders equipment and supplies for projects. 

Transports, assembles and disassembles storage systems.

Organizes storage to meet customer needs while minimizing replenishment time.  Label shelves and perform initial stocking with supplies.  Creates supply location guides as needed. 

Updates and builds automated supply ordering systems to reflect changes within PeopleSoft.

Performs periodic reviews for continuous improvement.  Includes ease of finding supplies, reduction of supply outages, and reduction of replenishment time.

Prepares detailed reports that provide a range of data to review with customers in evaluating supply needs and makes recommendations for improvements.

Reviews the project schedule with management and all other staff affected by the project activities; revises the schedule as required. Ensures that project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality.

Maintains project documentation, and provides frequent written status updates to customer, and management; applies facilitation skills to project related meetings; meets customer expectations as delineated in statements of work and project plans.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:  Associates Degree, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

EXPERIENCE:  Four (4) years of Supply Chain project coordination or lead experience, preferably in an acute care setting.

LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION: None required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

·         Knowledge of project management best practices.

·         Knowledge of supply chain logistics and systems.

·         Skill in facilitating and providing training.

·         Skill in developing project timelines and requirements and overseeing logistics to ensure deliverables are met.

·         Skill in running meetings and preparing reports for presentation.

·         Ability to build carts within the supply logistics MMIS.

·         Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

·         Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries or complaints from employees, management, regulatory agencies, patients and/or their representatives, and the general public. 

·         Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, general business periodicals, technical journals and procedures, general business periodicals, governmental regulations and/or legal documents.

·         Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

·         Ability to develop and maintain budgets, calculate figures, compute rate, ratio, and percent.  

·         Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

·         Ability to develop and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

·         Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations that conform to prescribed style and format.
