The Senior Benefits Analyst provides strategic, consultative, and analytical services for the employee health and welfare benefit plans.  Under guidance from benefits manager, may assist in the planning, research and proposal of  plan changes that support TMCs business objectives and ensures our competitive position in the labor market.  Implements and communicates benefit programs and policies.  .

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

Assists manager in the design and administration of benefit programs including retirement plans, health and welfare plans and other ancillary benefit offerings. 

Evaluates current programs through research, surveys, and data analysis to evaluate our competitive position as it relates to TMCs strategy.

Advises, educates, and coaches Benefits staff on benefit programs, policies, and systems.

Serve as the communication lead for benefits and has responsibility for working with the HR team, corporate communications, and vendors to plan and implement benefit communications using various mediums. 

Coordinates benefits billing administration under guidance and direction from benefits manager.

Directs and manages leave policies and ensures they meet all federal regulations. Monitors and/or produces various leave of absence reports as needed.

Recommends and implements approved procedures for maintenance of benefits program and associated record keeping.

Ensures appropriate records are created and maintained to meet audit purposes as well as individual employee benefit participation and/or coverage history.   

 

Coordinates with a variety of benefit carriers to ensure continuity of service and to resolve complex coverage issues and/or customer service problems (i.e., enrollment changes, loan/distribution/rollover requests, etc.). 

Evaluates and analyzes competitive trends in benefit coverage, employment demographics and budgetary conditions to recommend to management changes or additions to overall benefits package.

Works closely with the Director of Wellness to coordinate employee wellness efforts and assists in administering the Live Well Credit Program.

Build strong partnering relationships with benefits brokers/consultants, vendors and/or third party administrators.

Establishes metrics and analytics that measure the activities and achievements of the benefit programs.

Ability to provide a variety of reports as requested by manager.

Assists manager with legal and regulatory compliance of benefit programs and policies with federal and state laws.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university.

EXPERIENCE : Seven (7) years of professional level benefits experience, preferably in a self-insured environment or healthcare facility. Experience with Plan Design, Billing Administration, FMLA, ACA, ADAAA and various retirement plans a plus.

LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION : CBP, CEBS, and/or CWS preferred.
