Job Description
SUMMARY:
The Senior Solutions Architect (SSA) strategically plans, evaluates, designs, and implements advanced information systems, applications, and networked architectures to support Tucson Medical Center (TMC) and the Information Services (IS) Department. The SSA will work at the most advanced technical level to understand and plan current and future technology architecture to meet the ongoing needs of the organization. The SSA will work with others to evaluate and select the appropriate technology required to implement plans. This role will provide technical leadership through strong collaboration and communication, while facilitating strategic decision-making. The SSA will participate as part of a technical and/or project team to ensure projects are implemented according to architectural, technical, organizational, and budgetary plans. The SSA will work with IS management and organizational leaders to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of TMC IS.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Strategy & Planning
Design and implement long-term strategic goals and short-term tactical plans for managing and maintaining TMC systems and application software.
Ensure that proposed and existing systems architectures are aligned with TMC IS goals and objectives.
Provide architectural expertise, direction, and assistance to Systems Analysts, Systems Engineers, and other IS team members.
Develop, document, and communicate plans for investment of systems architecture, including analysis of cost reduction opportunities.
Conduct decision-related research on emerging technologies in support of systems development efforts, and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness while keeping system flexibility.
Acquisition & Deployment
Design, develop, and oversee implementation of end-to-end integrated systems.
Document TMC’s existing systems architecture and technology portfolio; make recommendations for improvements and/or alternatives.
Other Duties
Includes all Senior Systems Engineer or Senior Application Developer duties, as appropriate.
Mentor and coach other technical team members.
Participate in the development of estimates and plans for capital and operational projects.
Attend meetings with vendors or internal stakeholders.

Perform related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
EXPERIENCE : Ten (10) years of application and / or infrastructure engineering experience with evidence of job progression.
LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION: Technical certifications specific to technology support, if applicable. Microsoft, VMWare, Citrix, Cisco, or other technical certifications may be required for specific roles.

- Extensive experience in developing strategic systems architecture plans.
- Hands-on experience with business requirements gathering/analysis.
