Delivers primary or specialty care to new and established patients in accordance with the licensure and the highest standards of quality, integrity and compassion. The Same Day Nurse Practitioner will not carry a panel of patients; rather they will most often see patients of other TMC One providers. Patient care will often involve seeing patients for new, acute medical issues, often scheduled the same day though they may be scheduled in advance. In addition, as the Same Day Nurse Practitioner plays an important role in access to care, they may occasionally see patients who have been identified by the TMC One Quality team as having gaps in care such as outstanding labs, medications, diagnoses, testing, or screening exams. Furthermore, The Same Day Nurse Practitioner will routinely copy their progress note and any results of testing they ordered to the PCP, if the patient has one. They will also facilitate establishing with a TMC One PCP if the patient is without a PCP. They will not initiate a plan for expected ongoing treatment with controlled medications such as opioids, stimulants or sedatives.
