Registered Nurse - Pediatrics

This is a 33 bed unit with all private rooms. Two rooms are utilized as video epilepsy monitoring rooms. We care for newborn infants to young adult patients with diagnoses that range from medical/surgical patients and orthopedic surgeries including scoliosis, fractures and congenital repairs to cranial surgeries, diabetics, transfers from Nursery ICU (for home transition teaching) and the Mother/Baby Unit. All nursing staff is PALS certified and take an EKG class. Parents are allowed to be in the room 24/7. We round bedside with an interdisciplinary team: physicians, nursing, social work, case management, pharmacy, and other ancillary departments.

Unit Information:

REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION: Graduation from a qualified, nationally-accredited nursing program. 

EXPERIENCE: One year of nursing experience in an acute care setting preferred. 

LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION: Current RN licensure permitting work in the State of Arizona and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.  Some departments such as OR, Ambulatory Surgery, Pediatrics/PICU, PACU, and GI Lab will require advanced life support certification (ACLS and PALS).
