About Our Labor & Delivery Unit

TMC’s Labor & Delivery is a high-volume, high-acuity unit offering comprehensive maternal and neonatal services. Our unit features:

  • 24-hour perinatologists, neonatologists, anesthesiologists, and OB providers
  • 16 LDR rooms
  • 8 antepartum outpatient beds
  • 4 NST bays
  • 3 dedicated L&D operating rooms for scheduled and emergent procedures
  • Separate L&D triage area for patients >20 weeks
  • 5,500+ deliveries annually
  • Nurses trained across pre-op, intra-op, PACU, and newborn care roles
  • 14 nurses certified in Inpatient Obstetrics (NCC)
  • Additional subspecialty certifications in electronic fetal monitoring
  • All staff certified in NRP and ACLS

     

Types of care provided:

  • High-risk antepartum & intrapartum
  • Triage & outpatient procedures (NSTs, versions, etc.)
  • Scheduled and emergent C-sections
  • Postoperative and postpartum support

Requirements

Education:

  • Graduation from a nationally accredited nursing program. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience:

  • Preferred: 1 year of  RN experience (acute care or L&D experience preferred).

Licensure & Certifications:

  • Current Arizona RN license (or compact license).
  • BLS required.
  • ACLS (within 1 year of start date)
  • NRP (within 6 months of start date)
