Unit Information:
Cardiac - Unit 500 : This is a 36 bed unit. The Cardiac Acute Care Unit offers 1 Bariatric room, 3 ADA accessible rooms, 18 private rooms, a dedicated family waiting room and physician consult and charting area. All nurses are required to be ACLS and BLS certified along with telemetry competency sign off. We specialize in cardiac conditions and care for patients needing a higher level of care with: Acute Heart failure; Heart rhythm problems needing continuous and titrating IV cardiac medication; heart attacks; breathing problems associated with heart problems; and a heart infection or fluid around the heart. Cardiac Acute care also cares for patients who are waiting for or recovering from Angiography or Angioplasty, Cardiac Procedures, Pacemaker Insertions, and ICD (Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator) Insertion.
REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION: Graduation from a qualified, nationally-accredited nursing program.
EXPERIENCE: One year of nursing experience in an acute care setting preferred.
LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION: Current RN licensure permitting work in the State of Arizona and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Some departments such as OR, Ambulatory Surgery, Pediatrics/PICU, PACU, and GI Lab will require advanced life support certification (ACLS and PALS).
