SUMMARY:

Coordinates departmental activities under the supervision of the Director of Professional Practice, RN Professional Development Specialist program leads, and the manager of Wound Care and Vascular Access Teams. Provides administrative support to the director of Professional Practice, including several Shared Governance councils. Provides coordination of onboarding, ongoing professional development, and competency assessment programs for new hires and current clinical staff, including nurses, patient care technicians, nurse assistants, advanced practice providers, etc.  . Handles all aspects of graduate medical education (GME). Performs various office functions for Nursing Program Leads and Manager of Wound Care and Vascular Access Teams.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The coordinator must demonstrate initiative, resourcefulness, and problem-solving skills in applying a detailed knowledge of the responsibilities, functions, and underlying management structure of the department and the larger institution.

Organizes and independently prioritizes workload, establishing procedures, systems, and ensuring orderly and timely workflow.

Coordinates human resource functions and participates in the budget review and financial process in collaboration with the Director.

The coordinator will provide direction, leadership, and day-to-day management of educational and departmental activities including administrative support under the supervision of the Director.

Composes letters and memoranda from dictation, verbal direction, or from knowledge of hospital policy or procedures; edits and corrects data on routine documents in collaboration of the Director.

Assists with the development of and administration of Annual Nurse Learning Needs Assessment, Course Surveys, etc.

Provides administrative support to the Director, including scheduling of meetings, preparation of agendas, recording and maintaining meeting minutes, development of reports and provision of data for program outcomes to share with Executive leadership..

Prepare written reports and correspondence for the Program Director relative to the varied programs delivered via the department. 

Assist in the compilation of the nursing programming reports for Executive leadership, including reports for the Arizona State Board of Nursing.

Performs scheduling, packet creation, new hire employee list verification for onboarding, and other administrative/coordinating tasks for incoming new hire clinical staff.

Coordinates various ongoing office projects such as digitizing records, website maintenance, and assuming other coordinating projects as assigned. 

Adheres to TMC organizational and department-specific safety, confidentiality, values, policies and standards.

Performs related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree desired. Equivalent appropriate prior work experience accepted.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum two (2) years’ experience in supervision or coordination of programs and administrative support.

LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION: None required.
