Physical Therapy Aide Per Diem - Adult Outpatient Therapy
Prepares patients and equipment for physical therapy and treatments. Performs tasks to maintain the department in an orderly condition. Prepares equipment such as ice packs and hot packs. Removes and replaces braces, splints, and slings from patients’ body before and after treatment. Assists therapist to support patient during ambulation and gait training. Changes linens and cleans and stores equipment after use. Maintains cleaning logs as indicated.

Applies therapeutic modalities under the direction of the physical therapist.
Prepares treatment areas, patients and equipment for treatments.
Obtains, cleans, and returns required equipment.
Provides personal care assistance to patients, including bathing, dressing, eating, bedpans and transportation; demonstrates sensitivity to patient comfort and privacy. (Inpatient only)
Escorts patient to physical therapy gym.
Maintains established levels of supplies including linens, assistive devices, and handouts.
Maintains adequate supplies and monitors expiration dates.
Performs related duties as assigned.
In addition to all of the mentioned essential functions, the Physical Therapy Aides in the outpatient setting will also assist with front desk receptionist duties, co-pay management, insurance verification, and patient scheduling as needed.
EDUCATION: High school diploma, or general education degree (GED), or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
EXPERIENCE: None required.
LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION: Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification.
