Pharmacy Technician I PD - Interns for the class of 2025
Applicants must be enrolled to earn their pharmacy degree, class of 2025 only. This position will start as a Technician position and will be converted to an Intern role in September.
Assists Pharmacist in processing and compounding prescriptions and other drug orders. Pulls prescribed medication from shelf, enters medication charges into the computer, restocks pharmacy automation shelves, and handles telephone inquiries.
Assists pharmacists as directed, including filling orders and preparing labels.
Clarifies orders for all types of medications; documents pertinent information in a clear, complete, concise and organized manner.
Complies with Federal and State statutes, rules and regulations regarding the practice of pharmacy.
Prepares and makes deliveries to patient care areas and ancillary units.
Processes patient charges for pharmaceuticals as required.
Replenishes medicine supply carts/automated dispensing units for nursing units; ensures that the pharmacy is stocked with essential drugs and pharmaceuticals.
Compounds, labels and packages pharmaceuticals.
Counts, packages and labels unit doses and fills routine orders for inspection by Pharmacists.
Uses aseptic admixture technique in the horizontal or vertical laminar airflow hood as appropriate.
Enters or retrieves data from established computer files.
Adheres to TMC organizational and department-specific safety, confidentiality, values, policies and standards.
Performs related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION: High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
EXPERIENCE: None required.
LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION: Licensed by the Arizona State Board of Pharmacy as Technician Trainee. Pharmacy Technician licensure obtained within one year of hire. Heartsaver CPR (HSCPR or HSFACPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. .
