Manager Respiratory Care Services
Manages and directs the operation of pediatric therapy, inpatient, and outpatient services within the Tucson Medical Center system or manages and oversees all operations staff for acute therapy services within Tucson Medical Center.
Manages staff; interviews, hires and trains; evaluates employee performance; deals with performance problems as appropriate; delegates work assignments effectively.
Assists in managing department budget.
Identifies operational adjustments necessaary to impact identified financial variations.
Analyzes practices or processes and recognizes opportunities to gain efficiency.
Ensures that the department’s operations conform with local, state and federal governmental regulations.
Ensures delivery of quality therapy services and participates in therapy assessments and treatment as required.
Makes recommendations relative to organization and department operations such as organizational structure, facilities, space and layout, equipment use, work flow and staffing.
Develops and maintains community relationships for marketing purposes.
Identifies patient/client needs and develops quality programs to meet those needs; ensures delivery of quality services for patients.
Adheres to TMC organizational and department-specific safety, confidentiality, values policies and standards.
Performs related duties assigned.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE: Five (5) years of therapy service experience, preferably in a supervisory or managerial role.
LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION: Certification in Speech & Language Pathology or License in Speech & Language Pathology or License in Physical Therapy or License in Occupational Therapy and AHA Basic Life support certification or CPR instructor certification or Red Cross BLS Certification.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of therapy medicine best practices and regulatory requirements.
Skill in the use of computer applications such as basic functionality of the computer, PC File and Folder, Word, Excel, e-mail and attachment capabilities, Outlook, PowerPoint and presentation skills.
Skill in managing and evaluating staff.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to prepare detailed reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to calculate figures and compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs; ability to apply basic algebraic concepts.
Abilit6y to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusion.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
