SUMMARY: 

Serves as a key resource to the Legal, Compliance and Risk Management Departments by providing needed professional services as directed by the SVP-CLO.  Performs research and analytical work in support of administrative, financial, and personnel functions.  Assists in preparation and control of records, statistics, and reports regarding operations, personnel, etc.  Coordinates projects and/or processes specific to legal department objectives. Serves as administrative liaison with others within and outside hospital.  Will assist with contract preparation and tracking, claim management, department work scheduling, and process improvement.  Will be tasked with project management responsibility & work with FMV analyses.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Arranges appointments and meetings; coordinates meeting and agenda materials.

Organizes and directs staff in completion of projects and performs assigned duties in absence of supervisor/manager.

Schedules appointments; maintains the central department calendar and routes new project assignments to the appropriate individual(s).

Answers telephones, routes callers, takes messages, and provides routine information to callers.

Composes letters, contracts and memoranda from knowledge of hospital policy or procedures or at the direction of the SVP/CLO or Associate General Counsel(s).

Formats special reports and presentations including tabular displays, graphics, and overhead transparencies using Microsoft Office Suite products.

Operates a personal computer, word processing equipment and software, calculator, FAX machine, copy machine or related office machinery in performing assigned duties.

Prepares and catalogs department specific performance metrics and manages the organization of the Legal Department Filing system.

Manages department projects as assigned by the CLO.

Will work closely with the CLO on FMV issues related to appropriate compensation methods.

Inventories and orders office supplies regularly. Responsible for the overall appearance and presentation of the legal department facilities.

Performs related duties as assigned.

 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:   Bachelor’s degree required.  Masters or other advanced degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE:   No particular experience required. Candidates with experience working in professional office settings preferred.  Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products required.
