SUMMARY:
Provides mechanical, electrical and plumbing maintenance in the Laundry.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Adheres to TMC organizational and department specific safety, sanitation, confidentiality, standards of behavior and values of Compassion, Community, Dedication, and Integrity. 

Exhibits excellence in customer service through appropriate attitude and interaction with visitors and staff.

Operates hand tools, power tools and testing instruments to repair and maintain machinery and equipment.

Monitors and inspects work to ensure compliance with codes and regulations

Designs and fabricates metal items/parts as needed by using welder, soldering iron, and drill.

Interprets blueprints and instruction manuals for performing tasks.

Establishes preventive maintenance schedules and prioritizes repair and maintenance work to minimize disruption of hospital operations.   Performs preventative, corrective and improvement maintenance on equipment and machinery.

Performs related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:  High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED), or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

EXPERIENCE:  One (1) year of related maintenance experience.

LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION: None required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

  • Knowledge of mechanical operations as it relates to washing and drying equipment.

  • Skill in troubleshooting and repairing large industrial washers and dryers.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to complete routine reports and correspondence; ability to listen and accurately interpret others’ communication or instructions to take appropriate action.

  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
