SUMMARY:
Optimizes energy use through installation, operation, programming and maintenance of all Energy Management System (EMS) and Controls hardware and software. Responsible for commissioning, servicing, troubleshooting and maintaining, addressable fire alarm system, including hardware, software and programming.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Adheres to and supports team members in exhibiting TMCH values of integrity, community, compassion, and dedication.

Maintains and repairs systems; tests efficiency of systems and makes adjustments as needed to control hardware and electronic components.
Monitors and inspects systems to ensure compliance with applicable NEC, NFPA and Life Safety codes and regulations.
Assists with preparation of short- and long range plans for facility needs.
Reads and interprets blueprints and specifications; draws plans to be translated into blueprints for application by engineers and trades personnel.
Designs or selects equipment components already designed or in the design process and designs and/or constructs cables, adapters and other interface equipment.
Inspects and performs safety tests on equipment alarm systems, equipment automation systems, HVAC systems and Fire Alarm System.
Installs repairs and calibrates electrical and electronic recording devices, and regulates control instruments.
Coordinates and monitors power plant activities and programs; maintains and calibrates automation equipment and performs related duties to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the plant.
Provides guidance and training to Facility Utility Distribution and Customer Service personnel.
Works collaboratively with Fire Safety Specialist in programming, testing and maintaining Fire Alarm System.
Ensures complete and proper logging of files and records required for cost computation of time spent, materials and supplies used for each completed requisition or work order.
Coordinates planning, scheduling, and implementation of activities to accomplish work in cooperation with other sections of department and/or other hospital departments and services.
Develops estimates of time, labor, material, and cost requirements.
Monitors fuel supplies and schedules deliveries as needed.
Coordinates preventive maintenance with emergency and repair work activities.
Responds to emergency calls from critical care areas; troubleshoots equipment problems and repairs hardware as needed.
Uses automation to assist in diagnosing mechanical equipment problems.
Performs related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Associate's degree or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
EXPERIENCE: Six (6) months of related experience.
LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION: NICET (National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies) and preferred certifications and knowledge of fire alarm systems, NFPA and Life Safety.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Practical knowledge of fire and safety systems and how to troubleshoot and repair systems.
Skill in diagnosing mechanical equipment issues and failures.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries or complaints from employees, patients and/or their representatives, and the general public.
Ability to calculate figures and compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply basic algebraic concepts.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
