EPIC Business Systems Analyst - Ambulatory - Clinical Trainer
Provides functional-level support to business units in the use of an EPIC system and other assigned applications. Provides system analysis and design, system configuration, troubleshooting, training, and testing. Formulates and defines system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements. Devises or modifies procedures to solve moderately complex problems on an EPIC implementation and support environment. Analyzes business operations and provides consultation for optimum EPIC system utilization.
Responsible to develop educational material and deliver education to clinical staff. Evaluates effectiveness of learning strategies and outcomes of educational activities. Maintains educational documentation based on current implementation content. Maintains clinical knowledge through a variety of methods, including observation of clinical workflows and clinical documentation on hospital units. Conducts the build, testing and maintenance of the system training environment on a routine schedule. Provides assistance to clinical departments in identifying, developing, implementing, and maintaining effective training experiences. Evaluates trainee’s workflow and abilities, and conduct site assessments for efficient EMR workflow. Maintains records of training activities and trainee progress utilizing a learning management system; monitor effectiveness of programs and compile required reports and records. Utilizes the EMR system to adequately relay information to providers and clinical support staff in an understandable and accurate training format which utilizes up-to-date workflows and current curriculum to improve EMR utilization and patient experience. Answers application functionality questions from managers, analysts and clinical staff, researching answers and possibilities with appropriate teams within Information Services (IS) and with vendor advisors as necessary. Provides input to the Manager and acts as a liaison with clinical departments to identify, develop, implement, and maintain effective training experiences. Assists and supports system upgrades and implementations by educating other trainers, clinical educators, and analysts. Trains in multi-style settings (classroom, one-on-one, on-site). Collaborates with other clinical educators, analysts, super users, and regional partners to improve application functionality and training. Participates in on-call rotation and rounding activities with Ambulatory Team as assigned.

Provides consultative services to customers and technologists as to the workflow processes and incorporation of technology solutions.
Solves production and maintenance problems, documents processes and creates action plans delineating steps and procedures. Analyzes tasks and problems and determines the most efficient and cost effective method of accomplishing defined requirements within a scheduled deadline. Implements and modifies test plans for information technology systems including unit and system testing.
Develops clear, concise training materials and conducts customer educational sessions.
Executes comprehensive testing plans to verify critical business outputs and system integrity.
Prepares SOWs that are complete and clearly understood, while appropriately setting customer expectations.
Documents and prioritizes issues with vendor; stays current with vendor trends, strategic plans and technology.
Schedules loading bundles and fixes with vendor, systems group and customers.
Examines techniques in use and determining appropriate changes to effect improvements, reduce costs and enhance internal operational business processes.
Demonstrates ongoing dedication to expanding technical and business expertise and applies new skills and knowledge to TMC situations.
Adheres to TMC organizational and department-specific safety, confidentiality, values, policies and standards.
Performs related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year College or university, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
EXPERIENCE: One (1) to (3) years of business system analysis experience on an EPIC application implementation.
LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION: Must have EPIC certification in one or more major products/solutions.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of system analysis and operating systems preferably used in a hospital setting.
Skill in assessing needs and determining through documentation what the best approach might be.
Skill at problem definition and data collection by establishing facts, drawing valid conclusions.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries or complaints from employees, managers’ directors, senior leaders and the general public.
Ability to calculate figures and compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs; ability to apply basic algebraic concepts.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
