$7,500 Sign-on bonus offered with 2 years of experience!  Hours 1500-2300 with call one day a week and one weekend in a 5-6 week period!!!


Cardiac Sonographers/Echo utilizes high-frequency sound waves to perform non-invasive ultrasound procedures of the heart to assess the function as well as the structures of the heart in adult and geriatric patients. 


Cardiac Sonographers:

Performs ultrasound procedures of the heart such as echocardiograms, stress echoes, dobutamine stress echoes and clinical research trial echoes on adult and geriatric patients. Standards for echo protocols and guidelines maintained through the International Accreditation Commission (IAC).  Assists the Cath lab with pre and post procedural structural heart echocardiograms. Reviews and correlates relevant patient history, including corrective procedures, surgeries, etc. Applies independent clinical judgement during exam to ensure appropriate anatomical, pathophysiology and clinical conditions are captured in examination images. Utilizes advanced calculation and measurement packaging such as Simpson’s trace, proximal isovelocity surface area (PISA), transthoracic 3D imaging, etc. Safely administers intravenous imaging enhancement agents and agitated saline as indicated. Constructs a preliminary report detailing the findings of performed exams. Notify physicians of critical findings.  Assists cardiologists with Trans-esophageal Echocardiograms. Participates in the call rotation for the department as needed.  Performs echocardiograms in various locations of the campus. Practices and maintains standards of high level disinfection (HLD) cleaning of trans-esophageal ultrasound probes.


EDUCATION:   Associates degree or equivalent from an accredited diagnostic cardiac ultrasound program

EXPERIENCE :   Two (2) years minimum of full-time clinical experience specializing solely in adult echocardiography

LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION: Cardiac Sonographers are required to obtain RDCS through American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or RCS through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) within eighteen (18) months of hire.   AHA Basic life support required



·         Knowledge of sonography best practices and procedures.

·         Skill in performing ultrasound techniques and examinations, and evaluating scans.

·         Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

·         Ability to complete routine reports and correspondence; ability to listen and accurately interpret others' communication or instructions to take appropriate action.

·         Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

·         Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

·         Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. 

·         Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
