SUMMARY:

The Data Analyst is a key member of the TMC Foundation team, and is responsible for all aspects of philanthropy operations, including constituent records, gifts administration, reporting/prospect research, annual giving and special events. Oversees the overall management of the fundraising system, wealth screening, data retrieval, reporting, documentation, and data/system application training for staff.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Manages daily wealth screening and develops and implements business processes following industry’s best practices. 

Maintains and updates donor acknowledgement letters and provides overall management of the fundraising system. 

Manages quality control for data entry, constituent information management, and data imports. 

Extracts data from fundraising software to facilitate mailings and reports. 

Uses Word, Excel, Access and other programs as needed. 

Performs weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance tasks. 

Controls users’ access and security rights.

Provide oversight to the Development Specialist that will plan, execute and manage Foundation events. 

Manage internal and external communications; manage social media channels and the content of the Foundation’s website to insure accuracy, current information; identifies existing and new media and communication channels, communicating with various audiences; and collaborates with the team to effectively advance the mission.

Supports and trains staff regarding using the system, interpretation of records, producing mailings and reports, business processes and policies and other related matters to maximize effectiveness of fundraising system.

Analyzes data, makes suggestions for improved mailings, reporting and/or processing techniques. 

Develops reporting to enhance understanding and decision-making by Development/ Finance/ Administration staff and other key audiences.

Serves as System Administrator for the fundraising database.

Works with hospital’s IS department to establish and maintain security procedures for access system and protecting priority data; performs ongoing maintenance to ensure optimal system performance.

Works with Finance Department to fulfill data requests. 

Manages and performs monthly reconciliations.

Assesses and evaluates future information needs; recommends and implements software acquisitions from outside vendors and upgrades to improve department’s efficiency and effectiveness.

Attends meetings as required.

Adheres to and supports staff in exhibiting TMCH values of integrity, community, compassion, and dedication. 

Performs related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:  Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

EXPERIENCE:  Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in fundraising or related field at a large non-profit institution. Progressive experience and demonstrable success in fundraising required. 

LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION:  None required

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and fundraising software.

  • Knowledge of fundraising best practices.

  • Knowledge of non-profit organizations and laws governing non-profit organizations.

  • Skilled in interviewing.

  • Ability to maintain donor confidentiality.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries or questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

  • Ability to define problems from abstract information, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and present findings.

  • Ability to communicate both in writing and verbally to interact effectively with donors and prospects.
