Job Description
SUMMARY:
The Director leads enterprise-wide initiatives to ensure the highest standards of patient safety, and regulatory compliance. This role partners with senior leadership to design, implement, and monitor programs that align with organizational goals and accreditation requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Patient Safety
o Champion a culture of safety through education, reporting systems, and proactive risk mitigation.
o Implement evidence-based practices to reduce harm and improve outcomes.
○ Oversee root cause analyses for adverse events.
· Regulatory Compliance
o Maintain readiness for accreditation surveys (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS, DOH).
o Interpret and apply regulatory changes to organizational policies.
· Leadership & Collaboration
o Mentor departmental leaders and foster interdisciplinary collaboration.
○ Serve as a liaison with external agencies and professional organizations.
Adheres to TMCH organizational and department-specific safety, confidentiality, values, policies and standards.
Performs related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Master's degree in nursing, public health, or related filed
EXPERIENCE: Eight (8) years of experience in healthcare quality and safety leadership.
LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION: If clinical, current license permitting work in Arizona. CPHQ or CIC certifications preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
· Ability to design and implement enterprise-wide initiatives that align with organizational goals and accreditation requirements.
· Skilled in developing safety strategies and overseeing their execution across clinical and operational areas.
· Proficient in monitoring quality metrics, leading root cause analyses for adverse events, and using data to drive improvements.
· Comfortable with analytics tools and methodologies to support evidence-based practices.
· Strong communicator, able to mentor departmental leaders and foster interdisciplinary collaboration.
· Skilled in change management, guiding teams through regulatory changes and new safety protocols.
· Experience serving as a liaison with external agencies and professional organizations.
· Ability to mentor and develop leaders within the organization, promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
· Deep knowledge of regulatory standards (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS, DOH) and evidence-based best practices.
· Ability to interpret and apply regulatory changes to organizational policies.
