Director Operations - TMC Rincon
Job Description
SUMMARY:
Reports to the Administrator - TMC Rincon; optimizes the performance of TMC Rincon to best serve our community, with a focus on improving healthcare access and quality, while eliminating unnecessary costs. The Director is responsible for the day-to-day operations and achieving operational excellence. Also, supports the Administrator - TMC Rincon with growth, strategy, and support staff resources.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Directs staff; interviews, hires, and trains; evaluates employee performance; deals with performance problems as appropriate; and delegates work assignments effectively.
Leads development of operating budgets, monitors budgets for variance, and promotes appropriate action to meet budgetary expectations.
Leads capital budgeting activities, ensuring appropriate cost/benefit analysis and resource projections.
Oversees and leads the daily operation of the following core operational functions:
· Security
· Environmental Services
· Dietary and Nutrition
· Lab
· Facilities
· Materials Management
Provides information or resource assistance to other teams, departments, or functions; assists others in their efforts, even if there is no immediate or direct benefit to one’s own function or department.
Proactively develops contingency plans with appropriate tactics and responds to unforeseen circumstances and utilizes planned resources.
Develops a coaching and mentoring relationship with others that is purposefully aimed at developing their independence.
Adheres to TMCH organizational and department-specific safety, confidentiality, values, policies and standards.
Performs related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in business or related filed required. Master’s degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Requires five (5) years of leadership experience in a comparable leadership and/or management role.
LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION: None required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
· Thorough knowledge of operational functions.
· Skills with verbal, written, and interpersonal communications.
· Skill in organizing a variety of tasks and staff to meet deadlines.
· Skill in the use of computer applications, which includes the use of software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and/or various donor database software programs.
· Ability to motivate and manage staff to help advance the mission of TMC Rincon.
· Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
· Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries or complaints from employees, patients and/or their representatives, and the general public.
· Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
