Development Specialist - TMC Foundation
Responsible for implementing development programs, fundraising events, and managing donor relations.
Handles sensitive information discreetly and maintains confidentiality of all donors and sponsors.
Develops project budgets and monitors expenditures.
Develops public information material for web posting and manages updates to ensure information remains current.
Provides assistance to TMC Foundation staff.
Adheres to TMC organizational and department-specific safety, confidentiality, values, policies and standards.
Provide back-up administrative support from time to time when needed.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Prepares sponsorship solicitations and closes sponsorship gifts and in-kind support from corporations, foundations and individuals. Engages in donor cultivation strategies to develop long-term relationships with sponsors. Assists in preparing a variety of marketing materials for events (display boards, check-in cards, PowerPoint presentations, event programs, save-the-date cards and invitations). Coordinates all radio, television and print publications associated with events and obligations to sponsors. Coordinates and monitors event timelines. Manages RSVP spreadsheets and seat assignments for all events where applicable. Manages, coordinates and supports volunteer committees and college intern volunteers in the planning and execution of events.
Plans identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities for donors. Prepares brochures, posters, advertisements, news releases etc. in conjunction with the Development Officer. Maintains relationships with CMN National and Local Sponsors by visiting locations during campaigns, and providing ongoing support throughout the year. Responsible for planning and coordinating programs, including, Employee Giving Campaign, CMN Campaigns, and other programs as developed. Performs daily wealth screenings on patients in the hospital, and visit patients who meet criteria. After visiting, continues with standard process to generate thank you cards, phone calls, and tracking progress in donor database. Meets regularly with the Directors of Development to review the current status on assigned projects. Coordinates with Directors of Development to cultivate individual and sponsorship donors. Creates donor profiles for Directors of Development based off of research, and assist in a plan of action based off of gathered information.
EDUCATION: Associate’s Degree; preferred Bachelor’s in Business Administration, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of development or event planning experience.

Skill in event planning, public relations, and marketing principles and practices.
Skill in sponsor cultivation and fund development.
Skill in the efficient operation of computer applications such as Microsoft Office suite programs, web development and applications for internet and intranet.
Ability to write reports, review business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to compose marketing materials using a variety of media.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquires or complaints from employees, patients and/or their representatives, and the general public.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to complete routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to listen and accurately interpret others' communication or instructions to take appropriate action.
Ability to calculate figures and compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs and apply basic algebraic concepts.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
