Development Specialist - Event Coordinator - TMC Foundation

Responsible for implementing development programs, fundraising events, and managing donor relations.


Handles sensitive information discreetly and maintains confidentiality of all donors and sponsors.

Develops project budgets and monitors expenditures.

Develops public information material for web posting and manages updates to ensure information remains current.

Provides assistance to TMC Foundation staff.

Adheres to TMC organizational and department-specific safety, confidentiality, values, policies and standards.

Provide back-up administrative support from time to time when needed.

Performs related duties as assigned.


Prepares sponsorship solicitations and closes sponsorship gifts and in-kind support from corporations, foundations and individuals. Engages in donor cultivation strategies to develop long-term relationships with sponsors. Assists in preparing a variety of marketing materials for events (display boards, check-in cards, PowerPoint presentations, event programs, save-the-date cards and invitations). Coordinates all radio, television and print publications associated with events and obligations to sponsors. Coordinates and monitors event timelines. Manages RSVP spreadsheets and seat assignments for all events where applicable. Manages, coordinates and supports volunteer committees and college intern volunteers in the planning and execution of events.


EDUCATION:  Associate’s Degree; preferred Bachelor’s in Business Administration, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.  

EXPERIENCE:  Two (2) years of development or event planning experience. Event planning experience preferred. 



  • Knowledge of project management practices and tools.

  • Skill in coordinating and tracking multiple projects and maintaining records and files.

  • Skill in communicating with a variety of staff, patients, constituents, and general public both orally and in writing.

  • Skill in event planning, public relations, and marketing principles and practices.

  • Skill in sponsor cultivation and fund development.

  • Skill in the efficient operation of computer applications such as Microsoft Office suite programs, web development and applications for internet and intranet.

  • Ability to write reports, review business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to compose marketing materials using a variety of media.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquires or complaints from employees, patients and/or their representatives, and the general public.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to complete routine reports and correspondence.

  • Ability to listen and accurately interpret others' communication or instructions to take appropriate action.

  • Ability to calculate figures and compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs and apply basic algebraic concepts.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
