SUMMARY:

Coordinates volunteer activities that align with the mission and values of the hospital. Utilizes and demonstrates strong communication skills to engage TMC Auxilians, volunteers, staff and a diverse community. Serves as a liaison to nursing (if part of Hospice) and ancillary services, coordinates Auxiliary and volunteer events/community outreach, including volunteer recruitment activities. Develops and supports programs including revenue producing, student collaborative work with universities and colleges and other community partnerships. Acts as a liaison to the TMC Auxiliary Board of Directors. Provides administrative support as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Adheres to best practices of TMC Volunteer/Auxiliary hospital program.

Coordinates planning, organizing, and monitoring Volunteer Services & TMC Auxiliary programming and activities with Volunteer Services management.

Coordinates and /or assists in the coordination of adult volunteer recruitment and retention, orientation and training sessions in collaboration with Volunteer Services management.

Assists in the coordination of college/university student volunteer recruitment and retention, orientation and training sessions in collaboration with clinical and hospital partners with Volunteer Services management.

Coordinates and/ or assists in the coordination of adult and college/university student volunteer recruitment and retention, orientation and training sessions for special projects including revenue producing programs with Volunteer Services management.

Responds to routine questions from staff, volunteers, patients, visitors and the community related to Volunteer Services, TMC Auxiliary and the hospital.

Serves as liaison to TMC Auxiliary Board of Directors.

Develops and maintains community partnerships.

Develops and maintains necessary records and files for efficient operation and management of volunteers.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:  Bachelor’s Degree in Business, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

EXPERIENCE:  Two (2) years of volunteer coordinator, lead project management, or senior services experience, preferably in a hospital setting.

LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION: Department specific: valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card within 6 months of hire
