SUMMARY:

Formulates and defines specifications for the design and maintenance of the BI ecosystem which include the handling of databases, data warehousing, ETL processes, and tool administration.   Modifies and maintains complex, existing applications using engineering releases and utilities from the manufacturer.  Designs, codes, tests, debugs and documents operating environments associated with the BI system infrastructure.  Maintains the BI architecture and infrastructure systems involving testing, deployment and maintenance routines.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Create and communicate status reports in accordance with department standards.

Provide timely resolution of complex problems affecting the operation of the BI environment.

Build and maintain the BI ecosystem which includes (ETL, data models, queries, data warehouse, database storage).

Optimize BI data structures and environment quality.

Develop data warehouse process models, including sourcing, loading, transformation, and extraction.

Follow established design standards.

Research new developments in hardware and software to support the BI architecture and infrastructure.

Provide technical assistance to staff including interpretation of specifications as it relates to data modeling and data pipeline design.

Adhere to and support team members in exhibiting TMCH values of integrity, community, compassion, and dedication.

Perform related duties as assigned.

 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:  Bachelor's degree in computer sciences, business intelligence, STEM, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

EXPERIENCE:  Five (5) years of experience in BI development, data warehouse architecture, or data modeling, preferably in a healthcare setting.

LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION: EPIC certifications in Caboodle/Clarity development or has the ability to become certified within the first 6 months.  Data warehouse certifications with Microsoft or Oracle are highly recommended.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

·         Solid understanding and applied experience of relational database concepts, data warehousing, and data modeling.

·         In-depth understanding of database management system and ETL framework.

·         Knowledge of how to evaluate systems and develop scope and document system needs.

·         Experience in working with DBAs in evaluating and enhancing system capabilities.

·         Applied experience in assessing, optimizing, and maintaining effective and tuned data structures.

·         Applied experience in data modeling, data warehouse support, ETL, and BI tool administration.

·         Strong SQL knowledge and applied experience.

·         Data Transformation and Cleansing experience.

·         Communication skills, both oral and written.

·         Ability to respond to sensitive and/or confidential inquiries or complaints from regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

·         Ability to effectively present information to leadership.

·         Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
