Associate Director Major Gifts - TMC Foundation
Reporting to the Director of Major Gifts, the Associate Director is responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of gifts $5,000 and above as well as playing a vital role in expanding the Grateful Patient program. The Associate Director is expected to maintain key relationships in the community and the hospital. The Associate Director works in close collaboration with the Director, Major Gifts and other members of the Foundation team. S/he will develop a menu of funding opportunities, allowing donors to grow into major gift donors ($10,000+) that will have the opportunity to make significant investments in Tucson Medical Center. This position will be responsible for prospect and donor tracking and management and donor stewardship; maintains its own portfolio of high-potential prospects and donors. This position requires a high degree of creativity with superb attention to detail. S/he will meet core and partnership values of teamwork, integrity, accountability, and respect.
The Associate Director, Major Gifts is a key member of the TMC Foundation team, and is responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of gifts $5,000 and above. This position is essential to growing the long term health of the institution to broaden and deepen its base of individual support. Working closely with the development team, the Associate Director, Major Gifts will develop a menu of funding opportunities, allowing donors to grow into major gift donors($10,000+).
PRIMARY DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists in the development and implementation of an effective major gift strategy that takes into account the unique mission of TMC and the special needs of the current and potential donors.
Focus on personal cultivation and solicitation of the major gift pipeline and actively manage a portfolio of 30-50 qualified prospects.
Executes the annual development plan that includes revenue and participation goal for major gift program.
Qualifies major gifts and prospects and develops a personalized strategy for the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of each assigned prospect and donors.
Executes assigned duties in the Grateful Patient program. Under the guidance of the Director, Major Gifts the Associate Director works with physicians and nurses to encourage referrals from Grateful Patients. Will be assigned a certain number of physicians to develop long lasting relationships and help to identify major gift prospects.
Demonstrates TMCH Foundation’s core values to customers, employees, and visitors; and provided quality service in the performance of work assignments and duties.
Attends meetings as required.
Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree or comparable professional experience.
EXPERIENCE: Three to five years experience in fundraising or related field at a large non-profit institution. Progressive experience and demonstrable success in fundraising required.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Working knowledge of all aspects of non-profit fundraising. Knowledge of non-profit organizations and laws governing non-profit organizations. Excellent writing, speaking, interview and listening skills. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Ability to make introductory phone calls to get appointments with donor prospects. Ability to main donor confidentiality
Demonstrated successful communication skills; strong interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively with donors and prospects and represent the TMC Foundation; written and oral communication skills with the ability to conceptualize and articulate in clear and simple way.
