Assistant Manager, Clinical Nutrition
The Assistant Manager will perform the functions of a Clinical Dietitian. Educates TMC Dietetic Interns (DI) through individual discussions, group classes and community speaking engagements. The Assistant Manager will assist in preceptorship of dietetic interns through their rotations at the TMC Dietetic Internship. Assists the Clinical Nutrition and Diabetes Education Manager with leading the Clinical Nutrition team with specific focus on outcomes and performance improvement.
Assist with Dietetic Internship facilitation and organization of clinical and non-clinical rotations.
Assists DI director with development of rotation assignments and related activities.
Evaluates intern on ACEND competencies through observation, interaction and discussion with preceptors
Acts as a liaison to the community partners and the TMC DI.
Assists in Dietetic Intern selection.
Participates in the Dietetic Internship Advisory Committee (AZDPAC)
Collects data on DI outcomes and assists DI director in improvements to the internship based on outcomes.
Assists with managing staff: interviews, hires and trains; provides continuous feedback and evaluates employee performance; deals with performance issues as delegated by the manager; assists with scheduling of the Clinical Nutrition Team.
Preforms essential functions of Clinical Dietitian.

Assists in the development and presentation of employee education and training programs.
Functions as a nutritional resource to physicians, nursing, staff, and other healthcare professionals.
Collaborates with food services to ensure appropriate, high quality food and services are provided to all customers.
Consults with nursing personnel and patients concerning patient’s diet and food preferences and instructs as needed.
Coordinates and provides individual patient nutritional care as necessary.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in either Nutrition or Dietetics (Master’s Degree in clinical nutrition or related field preferred).
EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of experience as an RDN required; supervisory experience preferred. Two (2) years of experience precepting dietetic interns preferred.
LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION: Registered Dietitian Certification through the Commission on Dietetic Registration required.
