Analyst - 340B

SUMMARY :

Responsible for creating/revising specific 340B Program policy and procedures.  Ensures proper training and education for employees working on 340B quality assurance programs.  Completes timely self-audits for both 340B pharmacy operations and contract pharmacies.  Participates in any and all 340B Program audits. Ensures compliance with 340B Program requirements for qualified patients, drugs and locations.  Promotes and ensures overall organization compliance to 340B program.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

1. Policy and Procedure Development
   • M a i ntain up-t o -da te policies and pr ocedures on 340B pu rchasi ng p rocesses.
   • D evelop systems and processes to li m it program liabi l i t ies and prov ide proper audi ts to identi fy r i sk and prevent duplicate discounts and di version.
   • R ev i ew 340B Program policies and pr oced u res on an on goi ng basis and o f f er con tr ibu t ions and changes to ensu re 340B compliance.

1. E ducation
   • Develop proper 340B q uality assurance training for e mployees as appropriate.
     • Assign staff to 340B University OnDemand training based on their role/responsibility.
   • P r ov ide proact i ve education to s t a ff on policies and procedu res related to inven tory man a gement and 340B procedu res.
   • E x pand pro fessional de velop ment throu gh related classes and se m ina r s, current publications, and r e g ional /na t ional associ a t ion m e mbe rship par t icipa t ion.

   • Be involved in any and all 340B Program audits.
   • P er form audi ts on a scheduled basis; may invol ve presen t ing and resolving reconciliation issues as they arise du r ing the m oni toring and reconciliation proce ss.
   • P er form mon thly audi ts of con tract phar macies.
   • P er form mon thly sel f-audi ts of 340B ph a r macy operat ions.
   • E nsure co mpliance w i th 340B Program r e qui r e m ents for qual i f ied pa t ien ts, dru gs, and loca t ions.
   • M on i tor and audit s tate Med icaid clai ms to ensure compliance to p revent po ten t ial duplicate discount rebates.
   • U sing E xcel or a co mpa rable data man a g e ment p r o g r a m, f il ter out no n -eligible t ransac t ion s, including, but not li m i ted t o, d r u gs used to t reat pa tien ts du r ing inpatie nt ca re, Medi caid pat ien t s, d r u gs p rov ided free by man u f act u rers, t hose prov ided at non-eli g ible locations, or p resc r ipt ions w r i tten by no n-eli g i b le prov ide rs.
   • E v alua te pat ient eli g ibili ty f or qual i f ied and no n -quali f ied pa t ien ts in m i x ed-use a reas and clinics by rev i e w ing pa t ient medical reco rds, insu rance plan s, and, if applicable, hospi tal st a tus.
   • E nsure that facili t ies maintain adhe rence to 340B Program r e gulations and guideline s.
   • D evelop and fos ter work ing relationships w i th in t e rnal work i ng counte rpa r ts ( I T, internal audit, resul ts, accounting, and o the r s) to facili tate produc t i ve exchanges of i n f o rm a t ion to improve p r o g r am e ff iciency and pr o mote program co mpliance.    • D evelop a tho rou gh understan d i ng of the 340B Program and i mprove the o verall e f f iciency, value, and in ternal suppo rt of the 340B Program.
     A ssess oppo rtuni t ies f or cost sav ings and system i mprovemen ts to y ield hi gher co mpliance.
   • C on t inue to build kno w l edge of the heal th care and phar macy serv ices industr y; use that kno w led ge to identi fy ways, and m a ke reco m menda t ions, to i m p rove the 340B Program.
   • E v alua te and implement cost sav ings oppo rtuni t i es.
   • A ssist all cus tome rs to clari fy r e qui r e men t s and p rop ose sourcing op t ion s; evalua te and reco m mend the best sou rci ng sol u t ion.
