Patient Care Technician Per Diem - Outpatient Hospice

Adult and pediatric patients are cared for as outpatients in their place of residence with access to a hospice nurse 24/7. We provide a care team that includes RNs, social workers, chaplains and providers. Additionally we have comprehensive volunteer services and a bereavement program. We also have a pediatric hospice program and provide hospice services in the Benson area. The RN to patient ratio for our outpatient program is 1:12.
The Patient Care Technician is responsible for direct patient care services on a specific unit under the supervision of an RN or Case Manager. Provides personal care and assists with the implementation of selected portions of a care plan including respiratory services, rehabilitation services, and phlebotomy under the supervision and direction of a Registered Nurse.
EDUCATION: High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
EXPERIENCE: One (1) year of patient care experience, preferably in an acute care setting; or no experience if completed one semester of clinicals in an accredited A.D.N. nursing program or completed two semesters of clinicals in an accredited BSN nursing program.
LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION: Must hold and maintain a current Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
